Kirtan (chanting) is an ancient form of Yoga known as Bhakti, or the Yoga of Devotion. In this workshop, we will explore the different styles of chanting, from the simplest "om" to the more complex multi-versed kirtan chants. As we learn the chants, we will also learn about the mythology of the Deities that the chants are about. There is no need for any previous experience with chanting, or any musical abilities in order to attend the workshop. This class will be an opportunity to examine your relationship with yoga in a new way. It will be an opportunity to deepen and sweeten your practice. Kirtan is for all people. There are no masters of kirtan, or experts, no teachers, no advanced students, or beginners. The practice itself is the teacher, guiding us to ourselves.
