Terri Othling

Terri began practicing yoga at the age of 50 in 2010. It wasn’t until her first Bikram class in early 2011 that she became totally captivated with hot yoga, practicing consistently for 3 years. In March 2014 Terri took her first flow class at SWEAT Yoga studio and realized the beneficial, yet challenging beauty of practicing both “static” and “flow” hot yoga. She credits hot yoga with helping to heal knee and shoulder injuries and facilitating the ability to “age with grace.” Enrolling in the first SWEAT Yoga School to deepen her practice and yoga knowledge, Terri graduated in July 2015 with a RYT 200 and a passion to help people realize the countless benefits and joy of yoga, regardless of age. She is a mom, grandmother, and artist, and is so grateful to be a part of the SWEAT community (along with her daughter, Jenny Thomas).

Terri Othling instructs the following:
  • Static 60
  • In a static class, you will experience a series of postures performed individually with a short pause in between each pose. This class can be a vigorous and well-rounded workout, but is also very appropriate for beginners. It will provide both the new and advanced practitioners with a solid foundation that is useful in other classes offered at SWEAT. Expect a lot of feedback on proper form and alignment. Approximately 2/3 of each class will consist of standing poses, with the remaining 1/3 of class being spent on the floor. Environment – 98.6 degrees/70% humidity

  • Restore 90
  • This 90 minute class is where a student goes to dial it way down. Expect a very relaxing experience in a warm, but not hot, room. Practitioners will use props to find full body relaxation in postures, allowing gravity to do its work. This is a fantastic balance for a vigorous practice, and also a great weekly class for anyone who has physical limitations.  Environment -- 80 degrees/30% humidity
