DAY 1: GET YOUR HANDSTAND PRACTICE STARTED

Have you always wanted to do a handstand, but are not sure where to start? Or maybe you can do a handstand but the balance is inconsistent or your form have room for improvement? Ulrik are teaching a two days handstand workshop in which you will learn the best and most effective drills to balance on your hands in a straight line. In day 1 we will focus on the fundamental understanding of the practice.

TOPICS COVERED

- Understanding of the handstand practice - Mobility for proper handstand alignment and efficiency

- How to balance - How to kick-up into a handstand - Relevant beginner handstand drills and exercises - Individual training with feedback - Summary and Q&A

WHO IS THIS FOR?

This workshop is best suited for you who are inconsistent with 10 seconds freestanding handstand, or want to improve form and understanding of the practice. There is no prereqs, but it is recommended that you can do a 30 seconds handstand facing a wall without feeling like you are about to die. If you don't have that by the time you read this: GET STARTED NOW and you will make it in time.

DAY 2: TAKE YOUR HANDSTAND BEYOND THE STRAIGHT LINE

On day 2 we continue where we left off on day 1. There will first be proper warm-up and repetition from the most important lessons from day 1. Then we continue with basic shapes, before we move on to press focused practice. After that we have time for individual practice with feedback.

TOPICS COVERED

Joint preparation and mobility - Kick-up and balance - Shape coordination - Pike and pancake flexibility and compression - Press work - Individual training and feedback - How to apply this to your own practice - Summary and Q&A

WHO IS THIS FOR?

You will get the most out of this day if you already can balance in straight with some consistency. If you are not there yet, you can still participate and get a better understanding of what your handstand future will bring. Prereq: Non, but you get most out of it if you have already spent a decent amount of time on your hands.

WHICH DAY SHOULD I SIGN UP FOR? The weekend workshop is meant as a two-day event. However, if you are a complete beginner you can sign up for day 1 only. And if you are already very good at kicking up to a straight handstand and hold, you can sign up for day 2 only. If you are a teacher or coach who want to use this workshop in order to teach better, you are welcome to join both days even if your level surpasses the requirements.
